I am a consultant with Sogeti USA in the Des Moines, IA area. I specialize in agile software development. I have been at John Deere ISG since January 2012 where I have had the opportunity to contribute to several different projects.
Software Experiences
I have had the opportunity to learn and utilize several different technical tools. Professionally I work equally with Java and C#. I have worked on a Spring MVC application with a very intricate UI and on a C#/.NET backed web services project. My team has adopted MongoDB, a NoSQL, JSON-object like database, for persistence in our project. We even received professional training from 10gen, the company that backs Mongo. I have used it with Spring Data on the Java side and the C# driver on the .NET side. It is a very interesting beast, but I enjoy working with it.
About Me
I'm from St Charles, Iowa. I attended Interstate 35 High School. Upon graduating I went to Iowa State University in Ames where I began my adventure in Computer Science. After a semester I decided coding just wasn't my thing and switched to a double major in Accounting and Management Information Systems. I did a 2.5 year internship with Maverick Software Consulting where I discovered my love of coding. Now I am passionate about developing and delivering awesome software.
In my free time I like working with javascript and web development. I like making fast, responsive, and sexy web applications and hopefully will have a few to show off here someday. Also this site will be under constant construction for a while as I figure out how I want to utilize it.
